Growing Grant
“Google Expeditions for Ledyard Students – Virtual Reality Comes Home”
Kathleen Smith, Bonnie Vangieri, and Jenn Byars, District-wide, $10,500
This provides 30 student kits of Google Expeditions for use throughout the district.
Capital Grant
“Gateway To Technology Begins at Ledyard Middle School”
Ledyard Education Advancement Foundation announced a $125,000 multi-year pledge to expand Ledyard High School’s Project Lead The Way (PLTW) pre-engineering program to Ledyard Middle School. Implementation began with Ledyard Middle School’s Gateway To Technology program which offers Design & Modeling for the 2016 - 2017 School year. These classes will meet national Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS). PLTW provides teachers with the resources needed for rigorous and relevant project-based learning. Fundraising continues for phase 2 - Automation and Design.
